GUIDELINES FOR GLOVEBOXES
The Guideline for Gloveboxes provides information for designers, fabricators, and users regarding the proper, safe, and consistent design, fabrication, and operation of gloveboxes, while minimizing the cost involved. It guides the designer away from common ergonomic mistakes made when designing gloveboxes and provides information on installation, maintenance, decontamination, and decommissioning considerations. The document establishes standard features for design and fabrication of gloveboxes such that, when followed, minimize fabrication costs and improve operability. Other important issues relevant to gloveboxes that are addressed in the Guideline include quality assurance, glovebox-interior protective linings and coatings, safety, considerations for interior equipment, and radiological shielding.

NOW AVAILABLE - THIRD EDITION (2007) OF GUIDELINES FOR GLOVEBOXES
This third edition of the Guidelines for Gloveboxes expands and improves upon the original release in 1994 and the second edition release in 1998.

The first edition of the Guideline for Gloveboxes, AGS-1994-G001 ©1994, was published by the American Glovebox Society (AGS) in 1994 after four years of preparation by a dedicated team of over 100 professionals knowledgeable in glovebox technology. These individuals volunteered their time as members of the AGS Standards Development Committee.

The Guideline was updated and a second edition was published in 1998. This second edition includes changes to address feedback received for the first edition and additional information that was not ready for publication in 1994. The updated guideline is known as the Guideline for Gloveboxes, AGS-1998-G001 ©1998, Second Edition. This document represents over 1000 years of cumulative knowledge and experience with gloveboxes.

STANDARDS OF PRACTICE (SOPs)
The AGS has also published several Standards of Practice (SOPs). Three that are currently available for purchase are The Standard of Practice for the Design and Fabrication of Glovebags, AGS-G002-1998 © 1998, The Standard of Practice for the Application of Linings to Gloveboxes, AGS-G003-1998 © 1998 , The Standard of Practice for the Specifications of Gloves for Gloveboxes AGS-G005-2003 © and The Standards of Practice for the Design & Fabrication of Nuclear Application Gloveboxes AGS-G006-2005 ©.
